What will NEBOSH General Certificate Training Give Me?
A lot of people have heard about the NEBOSH General Certificate and indeed many of the different courses and qualifications that are available, but what will undertaking NEBOSH General Certificate training and achieving the qualification give you and what does it provide?
The NEBOSH National General Certificate contains more information than is taught on other health and safety training courses such as the Construction Site Managers SMSTS or on IOSH Managing Safely courses for example. Typical courses consist of ten days training with exams on the eleventh, as well as a workplace project which needs to be completed and returned.
The syllabus of a NEBOSH General Certificate course will cover a tremendous variety of different hazards and dangers to health that can be encountered in a range of workplaces. This is one of the main reasons for the qualification being so popular; because the information being taught is applicable to so many people. As well as dangers such as manual handling risks, fire and hazardous substances (coshh), the syllabus also looks at important topics including risk assessments, health and safety legislation, accident investigation and safety management systems.
So as you can see, the NEBOSH General Certificate provides a wealth of important information, and is why it is so highly regarded as one of the most respected and sought after of health and safety qualifications available anywhere in the world today. It is valued just as highly by employers, and in fact many will require a NEBOSH General Certificate or higher from potential job applicants. Many people who pass the assessment and obtain the General Certificate go on to further study such as a NEBOSH Diploma qualification.
