ILM Level 5 - Classroom Courses

  • In-House Option Available

With our classroom options, you benefit from face-to-face training days with our experienced tutors.

You’ll reap the rewards of their business-relevant, tried-and-tested approach and will be encouraged to bring live business issues and case histories with you on the course.

In addition to your two days in the classroom, you will need to undertake self-directed learning and three work-based assignments. This is estimated to take three hours per week for 12 months.

The good news is we offer tutor support, at no additional cost, to help you with your assignments and self-directed learning journey.

There are no hidden extras to pay on top of our course prices. Our ILM Level 5 open courses have the following included in the price:

  • Course materials and workbook
  • ILM project fees
  • ILM certificate fees
  • Lunchtime buffet
  • Refreshments
  • 12 months of tutor support

What is the difference between the ILM Level 5 Certificate and the Diploma?

The only difference is in the amount of logged coaching that is required post-course.

If you want to achieve the Diploma, you will need to complete 54 hours of logged coaching with 4-9 people. For the certificate, you will need 18 hours with 2-3 people.

This means that whatever qualification you are aiming for, you will be able to attend the same course dates.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Participants will be eligible to receive ILM letters after their name; either AMInstLM (Affiliate/Associate Member Institute Leadership & Management) or MInstLM (Member Institute Leadership & Management).

As with all ILM accredited programmes, participants will need to complete the post-programme activity in order to achieve their ILM Level 5 Certificate or Diploma in Effective Coaching and Mentoring.

These elements have been designed in order to show to ILM that you are able to put the skills and techniques learned on the programme into practice. We provide full support and guidance in completing these final elements.

We ask you to come prepared with issues which you are currently experiencing that you would be happy to discuss and be coached on.

Come prepared with 2 or 3 scenarios at work that you may apply your coaching learning to during your training. See this as a training pitch to get prepared before returning to the office.

We also send out a short document containing questions and exercises which will help our coaches understand you better and work with you in order to receive the best training.

To achieve this ILM qualification, participants will have to complete the following post-course activities:

3 x work-based assignments need to be completed. We offer 1 year of support included in the price, but you have up to 3 years from attendance and registration to submit them. Embedded in the assignments, the Certificate will require delegates to complete 18 hours of logged coaching with 2-3 people. The Diploma will require delegates to complete 54 hours of logged coaching with 4-9 people.

Additional tutor guided learning will take the format of book and video reviews with ongoing tutor guidance and support via phone, Skype, Zoom or face-to-face.

You will receive 12 months support from our assessors who will be there to guide you through your assignments. Information on how to book sessions with your assessor are found on the online refresher course which you will be given access to once you have completed the 2 day course.

Each participant on this business coaching course will be issued with a workbook to assist them both during and after the course, which will contain information, guidance and forms to assist with the coaching sessions.

Participants will also complete a Paradigm psychometric report and receive a year's membership with the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM).

You will receive templates to assist with the three ILM work-based assignments, to ensure you complete your qualification successfully.
