Business Coaching - Be Successful
Every programme that we at the BCF Group have ever designed and delivered has been created in order to generate success and progression. This is true for our:
Our clients invest their money in us to deliver on results, and we would not be doing our jobs correctly if we weren't able to deliver on this. Our long-standing recognition within the business coaching and training arena would not have lasted so long had it not been for the creation of programmes that deliver exceptional standards within the learning and development field.
We are able to generate such high levels of Return on Investment (ROI) largely due to the exceptional delivery style and calibre of our L&D professionals (Related Page: Building a Business Case for Coaching). We find that we are in a very fortunate position of having numerous clients for life.
So what it all comes down to is; if you want to star in your very own success story, come and have a chat with us at The BCF Group.
What is Success?
The definition of success and achieving a successful outcome from the training and development sessions will vary between every company and organisation. For some it may be increasing sales figures, for others it may be creating a team which is more effective and more capable at dealing with customer concerns.
The list of potential objectives is practically endless, which is why it is vitally important for them to be decided upon and communicated before the programme is devised. (More information on this can be seen on our Be Effective page).
Rather than taking your money and simply giving you any old course, we work with you to acquire a clear understanding of the reasons for why you felt the need for training in the first place, and the outcomes which you desire to achieve as a result of allowing your employees time away from the workplace to attend the training and development sessions. By taking the time to understand your business and what you want it to achieve, we can design a programme which will be far more beneficial and valuable than a generic off-the-shelf course, enabling you to get the most for your time and money.
Development is Important at All Business Stages
One myth which we hear a lot of times is that business coaching, training or development programmes are only really necessary when a company or department is struggling. It is understandable, as it is the conventional way of thinking, in that if something is broken or not going right then something needs to be done to fix it. If things are going well then there is no need to do anything or make any changes.
However, we actually think that the best time to invest in manager and employee development is when times are good.
For one thing, prevention is better than cure. It will cause far less disruption and headaches for a business if they never get into difficulties in the first place and don’t have to take measures to try and get out of it. Of course, they may be too far gone and never be able to recover. If trading sinks too much for instance, they may never be able to return to profitability, and the losses sustained may force the business to close.
Whilst most managers think about training and development when they need to turn things around, surprisingly few actually realise that the same training and development can turn good performance into outstanding performance. Not only can this extra performance result in larger profits, but it will enable the company to build up a financial cushion in reserve, which can be used during times of difficult trading. This cash cushion could be the difference between survival and failure further down the line.
Secondly, good times often means the company has more spare cash available to spend on training. During difficult times, spending is often cut and there is little money available to spend on anything. In this situation, a manager may recognise that training is needed, but not be able to afford it.
When times are good however, the spare cash can be used to provide training and development. This will either contribute towards preventing the company getting into difficulties in the first place, or if it does, employees and managers who have been well-trained will be far better placed to turn around the company’s fortunes and get it back on track.
The third reason is that when the company is performing well, everybody within it is generally happier and more motivated. When things aren’t going well, quite often colleagues can start arguing and blaming each other or particular teams within the group for not performing.
The point is, that when employees are in a good mood, they are almost always far more receptive to new ideas and development processes. The situation may be so bad that many of them are half thinking about leaving anyway, so won’t be that interested in learning how they can help the company in its attempts to turn things around.
Providing coaching and training at a time when employees are happy and actually want the company to succeed will be a much better use of your training budget, and should yield significant results for future success.
